Name Meme 1

Simon Vantell
1) Honestly, I just liked the name Simon. And after drawing him out, he just LOOKED like a Simon.
2) He was added to the story for drama purposes. He created some tension and interest in Yasha and Kitsune’s relationship… because everyone knows a perfect couple is just boring to read about. To this day, he never fails to disappoint whenever drama is needed.
3) Simon has always been weak and manipulative, but at least now he’ll admit to it. After his wife’s death he realized the importance of having a relationship with one person instead of many. Nowadays he’s resigned himself to the fact that Kitsune loves Yasha more than him—and he’s actually okay with that.
4) He’s SO very flamboyantly gay.

Yasha Ongaku
1) I combined the Japanese words for demon and music. Demon because Yasha is a dog demon and Ongaku just for the fact that I liked it.
2) He was my first OC! I guess he’s like a male version of myself? Weird. He was made to hook up with my best friend’s character, Kitsune. They’ve been together since their creation about eight years ago!
3) Yasha started out as a playboy and a drunk. Even after marrying Kitsune he wasn’t faithful to her. After her death and resurrection though he realized what a good thing he had and became completely devoted to her. He puts up with any and all of her shenanigans, even letting her sleep around when she chooses. He did show some jealousy over her sleeping with Zephaniah though—and forbade her to sleep with him after they ran off for a month.
4) He loves to write. He’s a freelance journalist. Most of his popular articles revolve around revealing information about Simon’s private life.

Zephaniah Tora
1) Zephaniah is a name of a king in the Bible. He’s not made to be anything like the king, but I just thought it was a cool, odd name. Plus, he comes from an old family of lords. Tora is the Japanese word for tiger, and he’s a tiger demon. Makes sense, right?
2) Originally, he was just made to be an assassin hired to kill Simon, but after using him a couple of times in the story he stuck around and grew into a very deep character. He’s one of my favorites now.
3) Zephaniah used to be a total prick. He thought that women were inferior to men, killed without mercy, and cared about no one except himself. After meeting Kitsune though, his pride was broken. He came to love her, learned some manners, and became a relatively respectable gentleman. He even decided to do the “right” thing and settle down with someone from his village in order to continue his family’s legacy…
4) He’s a big softie when it comes to his children, even if he is a bit hard on his son Makedah. (That’s only because they’re so alike!)
